The excitement continues for the golf course maintenance department. The greens renovation project has been completed, and the greens were sprigged with new grass on July 19 and 20. All that is left now is to grow them in and then groom them to the proper height. Barring any major setbacks from mother nature, we are on schedule to have the greens ready for the 1 of November as originally planned.
The renovation of the bunker by the green on 17 has been completed, and has turned out well. The bunker has been raised to prevent it from being flooded during heavy rains.
We continue to aggressively spray weeds on the course and are getting good results. We would like to remind everyone that some of the herbicides will temporarily discolor the bermudagrass. If you see an area of turf that has turned a yellow, don’t be alarmed. This was caused by a herbicide, and the turf will return to normal within a few days.
We hope that everyone is enjoying their summer and we look forward to seeing you on the course soon.
