After all of the hard work, we are happy to have the greens ready to open on November 1. The maintenance staff has put in a lot of effort to make this project successful. We appreciate everyone’s patience while the work has been going on, and we feel that results are something we all can be proud of. You can expect that the greens will be firm to begin with, and the playing surface will continue to improve as they mature.
The maintenance staff has also completed several small projects over the last month. These include installing drainage in wet areas along cart paths, sodding a few bare areas, and making new coquina areas on #2 and #13. We have a few projects to wrap up over the next few weeks. These include adding coquina on #7 and installing drainage in a wet area by #8 tee. As we move into the golfing season, the maintenance team will shift away from doing projects to concentrate on the daily setup on maintenance on the course.
We hope that everyone returning for the season will be pleased with the new greens and the course conditions. We look forward to seeing everyone on the course and hearing what they think about the results of our work over the summer.
