As the summer season gets started, the days get longer, temperatures rise, and the grass really begins to grow. This is our time to start making a dent in the weed population. Over the next week, we are going to be spreading fertilizer across the whole course. This will stimulate the grass, even more, to assist in recovery and growth. After the fertilizer is out we are then going to spend a week or two spraying all the rough with an herbicide that will kill the weeds. You will see some discoloration in the Bermuda grass but in a few short weeks the Bermuda will green back up and fill in the spots where the weeds once were.
Finally, a reminder that June 3-7 the front 9 will be closed for maintenance and then the following week June 10-14 the back 9 will then be closed for maintenance. We all appreciate your patience during this time and look forward to seeing everyone on the course soon
