Now that we are finishing up July and the heat, humidity and rain are in full action we are doing everything we can to keep the course mowed. We are continuing to spray the rough for weeds and doing some spot spraying in the fairways and tees. The rough is continuing to heal in from the thinning of weeds and is looking good.
For the future plans, currently we have two big items to address. The first is September 3rd – 5th we are going to be aerifying the greens again. The 3rd the front 9 will be closed, the 4th the back 9 will be closed and the 5th is a backup day in case we have any delays.
Lastly, on Monday, September 9th the tees and fairways will have a product cut into them. This product is called Curfew, and is a pesticide to kill nematodes. This means that on Tuesday, September 10th the golf course and practice facilities will be closed. Also, during these two days no one can walk on the golf course. There will be signs posted around the golf course prior to, and during the application process.
We want to thank everyone for all their support and please feel free to contact the Golf Shop if you have any questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
Buck Deibel Kenton Gamache
Director of Golf Golf Course Superintendent
